Thinking about Green Energy from a Numbers Perspective

Presentation by Court Ashbaugh

In the upcoming energy sessions, you will be guided to a new understanding of the quantities of energy associated with your daily life – both the obvious relations like driving cars and making toast, and the more subtle ones like growing food, making concrete, or running hospitals. From an understanding at the personal scale stems an understanding of the policy positions taken by governments – those institutions that regulate energy generation on our behalf and who hold the lion’s share responsibility for addressing the climate emergency.

Conversation between James Shaw and Elizabeth May

On July 8, 2020, James Shaw, co-leader of the New Zealand Greens, and Elizabeth May, Parliamentary Leader of the Green Party of Canada, joined members and supporters for a chat about how a small number of elected Greens can pass progressive legislation, and, what influence the New Zealand Greens had in their Government’s successful management of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This event was hosted by your West Vancouver–Sunshine Coast–Sea to Sky Country Green Party EDA. We appreciate the support of Green Party staff in making it possible to share our guests speakers with the rest of Canada’s Green supporters.
